Veronica on laaja kasvisuku, johon kuuluu yli 500 eri lajia pääasiassa pohjoisella pallonpuoliskolla. Ne tunnetaan yleisesti nimellä 'veronica' tai 'orvokki' ja ne ovat monivuotisia, yksivuotisia tai biennaaleja kasveja. Veronica-lajit kasvavat erilaisissa elinympäristöissä, mukaan lukien niityt, metsät ja kosteikot. Ne ovat erityisesti tunnettuja kauniista ja värikkäistä kukistaan, joita käytetään koristekasveina puutarhoissa ja maisemanhoidossa. Monet veronica-lajit sisältävät myös lääkinnällisiä ominaisuuksia, ja niitä on perinteisesti käytetty erilaisten vaivojen hoitoon.
