Mitä tarkoittaa

Hermetic tarkoittaa suljettua tai tiiviisti eristettyä, erityisesti viitaten tiloihin tai astioihin, joista ei pääse ilmaa tai muita aineita. Termi juontaa juurensa hermetismistä, joka on elämän ja kosmoksen syvällisiin salaisuuksiin liittyvä filosofinen ja okkultistinen oppi. Hermetic-materiaaleja käytetään usein teollisuudessa, kuten elektroniikassa ja elintarvikkeiden pakkaamisessa, estämään kosteuden, ilman ja muiden epäpuhtauksien pääsy tuotteisiin.
