Allocution on oikeudellinen termi, joka viittaa syytetyn tai todistajan mahdollisuuteen puhua oikeudenkäynnissä ennen tuomion tai päätöksen antamista. Se tarjoaa henkilölle tilaisuuden esittää omat näkemyksensä, tunteensa tai puolustuksensa, ja se voi vaikuttaa tuomarin tai valamiehen käsityksiin tapauksesta. Allocution on erityisen tärkeä rikosoikeudellisissa prosesseissa, joissa syytetty voi haluta esittää lieventäviä olosuhteita tai anteeksipyynnön, jotka voivat vaikuttaa tuomioon.
